Job Description:

As an Executive Producer, you’ll be pivotal to winning and growing new business, cultivating strong client relationships, and ensuring the successful execution of high-quality projects. You will be responsible for the initial strategic and financial framework of projects, empowering Producers to manage day-to-day productions while serving as a key escalation point and champion for both our clients and our teams.

Responsibilities:

Business Development & Bidding:

• Proactively identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities, building a strong pipeline of prospective clients.  

• Lead strategic RFPs and new business pitches in partnership with Strategy and Creative, shaping responses, team approach, and client presentations to win new opportunities.

• Frequently lead the bidding process alongside Heads of Departments (HoDs), expertly completing bid sheets with comprehensive information on scope, deliverables, and timelines.

• Translate client needs into informed production approaches and realistic budget ballparks, establishing strong foundations for accurate scoping and bidding.

• Apply strategic thinking to every bid, adapting staffing, scope and approach to maximize creative opportunity while maintaining healthy margins and long-term client partnerships.

Client Relationship Ownership:

• Own and nurture client relationships, focusing on building long-term partnerships beyond the day-to-day production. Lead preliminary client communications and project kickoff calls.

• Collaborate closely with clients to anticipate future challenges and position BUCK as a strategic, long-term partner rather than a project-based vendor.

Leadership & Financial Acumen:

• Accurately ballpark labor and expenses to set realistic client budget expectations during initial project discussions. 

• Responsible for the initial project set up with finances, client relationship and building teams handing over day-to-day project management to a producer upon project award.

• Drive initial resource and staffing decisions alongside Resourcing and Heads of Departments, and own project setup within studio systems, including accurate metadata entry and maintenance, taxonomy completion, and Job Code requests and closures.

• Effectively delegate responsibilities to teach and train team members on proper processes.

• Serve as a key escalation point for Producers during production, providing support and guidance on decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in production, with a significant portion in a senior producing or executive producing role

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Production Lead or Senior Producer

• Proven track record of successful business development and client relationship management

• Exceptional understanding of the creative production process across various disciplines (design, 2D/3D animation, etc.)

• Strong financial acumen with the ability to accurately estimate budgets and manage project profitability

• Excellent negotiation, communication (written & verbal), and presentation skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and delegate effectively

• Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions

• Proficiency in relevant production management software and system
